I’ve created a public Google Calendar that we can post new events as they occur. You can subscribe to this calendar to receive updates on upcoming events.

Yesterday, I met up with Flickr Club SA and discussed some goals for their organization and how we could collaborate efforts. We have developed some interesting ideas in this meeting.

One idea is to start taking and collecting photos in and around downtown San Antonio by street and put together a group portfolio. See this thread for some more information. If we can get something like this together, it might be possible to get a gallery or local coffee shop to display our collection. If we are feeling really ambitious, we could submit the collection for FotoSeptiembre.

Flickr Club SA would also make full use of Flickr to announce themes and progress. Every once in awhile, they will announce a theme and encourage members to submit photos of that theme on their own time. Some members will opt to join in on SA Photo Safari (this blog) events to help gather some photos.

To those looking us up from Flickr Club SA, welcome!

Utata Iron Photographer Projects

This week is our 40th instalment of the Utata Thursday Walk. For many of you, this is the dead of winter, and the thought of going outside for a walk may give you the chills. For others, it’s the height of summer, and a perfect day for a walk. Whatever your weather, take the chance to take a break from your normal day’s routine and go for a walk. Show us what you see in your corner of the world.

This looks like an interesting site.  In addition to the Thursday walk they have a series of projects that look challenging and fun.

Flickr Club SA, another informal group from the Alamo City, is meeting on Sunday, January 21 at 2pm at the Starbucks at I-10 & Vance Jackson. More info and discussion in this thread.

I won’t be able to attend since I’ll be packing and possibly moving that day. I will try to make any future meets. If anyone can make it please let JimmyDaddy2003 on Flickr know by resonding the the thread linked above.

We’re a loose knit and informal group of photographers who like to converge on a locatation and take pictures.  If you want more info you can contact us through the coments here or our Flickr group.
